THE FACTOR OF STIGMA & DISCRIMINATION

Lack of information and understanding regarding to this matter (e.g HIV/AIDS) that cause limitation of knowledge, experience in dealing with this issues and the irrational fear.

There are 6 categories that are exposed to the infection and effect of the HIV which are:

1.            The person who actively involved with the risky activities.
2.            The person who once active with the risky activities.
3.            The couple of the person in categories 1 & 2.
4.            The children of the person in categories 1 & 2.
5.            The patient who treatment for received blood transfusion or involve with the organ transplant that was infected with the virus.
6.            Family members of above categories (affected people)

According to the above categories, the society should play their role as bellow:

1.            For the first category: It’s a compulsory for the society to guide them back in the right track to avoid them continuously doing the risky activities and the dangers of the spread of infection.
2.            For the second category: The society must respect to them as they have repented.
3.            For the third category (the innocent victim): The society must give support and assistance.
4.            For the fourth category (the innocent victim): The society must give support and assistance.
5.            For the fifth category (the innocent victim):  The society must give support and assistance.
6.            For the sixth category (the innocent victim): The society must give support and assistance.

The action

Try to make the comparison between all the categories and the role play by the society in helping them and relate it to the meaning of the words that shared above.

The society must ask themselves whether they have taken the reasonable action or measures in helping them? Whether we already done our responsibility in helping them as fellow Muslim and human being?

The reminder

Hopefully the firman of Allah s.w.t  in surah al-Hujurat: 11 bellow give us the softness of heart and also thinking and take action in reasonable mind.

O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
